When will a vaccine be ready? I'm with Dr. Fauci on this ... An adequately tested, safe, effective vaccine will be available in 12-20 months ... anything released earlier has skipped several key steps and may cause more problems than it solves ... hopefully, SARS-CoV-2 has stable similarities to SARS & MERS which have significantly more advanced vaccine efforts ... if the latter is true, then a vaccine could be safely and effectively available inside 6 months slightly more detailed info ... vaccines have to go through several FDA mandated stages ... proving animal safety, human safety, minimum dosage safety and human effectiveness ... most of us estimate that these stages take about 3-6 months each at the fastest ... anything released without having gone through these stages is rolling the dice
