Greenwich is a SARS-CoV-2 HOTSPOT!

So in determining whether an area is a "hotspot", one has to take into account likely undiagnosed infections, known cases and morbidity/mortality The zero event for our area was a party in Westport in early March which apparently had one or more super spreaders in attendance ... the attendees dispersed from this event and incidence (new cases of SARS-CoV-2) spiked wherever they traveled

From an epidemiological perspective, Greenwich is MOST DEFINITELY a hot zone, known or not ... the known count of cases is a fiction, not intentionally or nefariously, but objectively since the lack of available testing requires us to make the logical assumption ... we are in the early stages of an exponential curve of incidence ... stay inside!

An interesting wrinkle in all of this, is whether we're an appropriate sanitarium type locale for New Yorkers fleeing close confines, near certain infection and stressed health care systems ... taking the larger view, I'd say "yes" but realize that agreeing to take in all these "fugitives" is going to impose a cost on me and my family ... I hope that our town can accommodate those who want to ride out the storm without too much negative impact ... lets hope Fred and his fellow Selectmen can make the decisions to thread the needle on this

Hi Rommel, I hope you and everyone on this site is well! I have a question concerning cleaning products. I have available to me whatever I happened to have in my arsenal of cleaning products from BC (before covid). Now you can’t find the sanitizing wipes and hard core stuff the EPA is recommending. Here’s the garden variety of cleaners that I’ve got that I assume many of us have: Fantastik Heavy Duty(claims to be antibacterial, lists ammonium chlorides); Clorox Splash-less Bleach (sodium hypochlorite and sodium Hydroxide) which has a fine print disclaimer on the back that says that it is NOT for sanitization or disinfection, oddly enough..; and Simple Green (surfactant). There are 5 of us in our household…
